Tackling New Challenges in the Anthropocene – The 3rd Future Earth Japan Summit
The third Future Earth Japan Summit, “Peace and Life in the Anthropocene,” was held on 21 November 2023 in Kyoto, Japan. More than 150 people joined the event both onsite and online. Following a keynote speech and lectures exploring the history of the Anthropocene, relations between nature and people, and earth systems, participants joined the three breakout sessions on ‘Planetary Health’, ‘Biodiversity and Climate Change’, and ‘Peace and the Environment’. Participants with diverse perspectives actively discussed the issues of how we, as Future Earth, can tackle the new challenges we face in the Anthropocene to build a sustainable global society.
