Md Nahid Uz Zaman

Science Officer

Md Nahid Uz Zaman is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Hokkaido University, Japan, and a Senior Staff Nurse under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh. He obtained his PhD in Health Sciences from Hokkaido University. His research focuses on Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), global health, and health equity, particularly among vulnerable and underserved populations. His previous research has focused on nursing students, while his current work explores the health and wellbeing of Indigenous communities, including Baka hunter-gatherer communities in Cameroon and Santal communities in Bangladesh. Using mixed-methods and participatory approaches, he conducts research across Asia and Africa, particularly in Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Cameroon. His work aims to integrate community knowledge, public health research, and transdisciplinary collaboration to advance equitable and sustainable health solutions.
