Jency Maria Sojan

Science Officer - Water Security, Risk to Coastal Communities

Jency is as a Project Associate at Future Earth South Asia Regional Centre. She is currently involved in research on Water Security in South Asia. In addition, Jency takes part in conducting events and activities for Future Earth South Asia that aim to spread scientific awareness about climate change and water among policymakers and the wider public. Her other research interests include hydrological extremes, flood risk assessment, and applications of GIS and remote sensing. Jency holds a Master of Technology specialized in Environmental and Water Resources from the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, India and a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, India. During post-graduation, Jency received a Special Recognition in Research Excellence Award 2021 from the Institution of Engineers, India (IEI) - FCRIT, Vashi, for her work in the field of hydrology under the students-PG-National category. In her spare time, she enjoys solving sudoku, reading, trekking, and playing badminton.
